Her own name and iconography are inseparable from the lotus, she is seated on one, which is why she is also called Padmasana, and she holds one in her hand as a symbol of purity and quiet strength. This saree leans fully into that image, delicate pink lotus blooms hand painted across a soft yellow cotton base, the colour tradition assigns to her day, with a larger bloom gathered on the pallu.
The base fabric is cotton, breathable and easy to wear through the long middle stretch of Navratri, when the festival's early energy has settled into its steady rhythm. Every lotus is painted freehand by an artisan, in varying sizes across the body of the saree, so no two pieces in this design are ever exactly alike.
